Does Juuli withhold any taxes?

For freelancers, no, we don’t withhold any taxes.

For businesses, we factor in the VAT rate (depending on the country) and require the payment to complete the invoice. While VAT is not classified as a component of withholding tax, please note that Juuli upholds mutual corporate compliance with both international and national trade regulations.

Further explanation for freelancers:

Juuli bypasses the challenges of freelancers setting up a company (such as accounting fees, corporate tax, tax and legal consultancy). As you may know, when you establish a company, you have two tax obligations directly. The first is the corporate tax that your company pays, and the second is the income tax paid by the company's owner or employee. Juuli directly assumes the corporate tax and does not pass on any costs to you.

Income tax, which is expected to be declared and paid by the employee depends on the conditions of the country of tax residence. As a freelancer, you are directly responsible for your income tax and must report your income and expenses while ensuring payment to the tax authorities of the country with which you are affiliated.
